Causes of Infertility – There are a number of couples who decide to have a baby, and so look for ways to get pregnant. However, the pregnancy of a woman depends upon the proper calculation of her ovulation period.
Sperms do not last in a woman’s body for more days and so, it is necessary that the sperm meets the egg in the given days, in order for a woman to get pregnant. Sometimes, the woman or the man may get infertile, leaving the couple depressed that they won’t have a baby. No single partner can be blamed for it. There are as many chances for a man getting infertile, as there are for women.
It is known that there are 1/3 chances of women getting infertile, and same ratio is for men. Both men and women can also be infertile at the same time. There are a number of causes of infertility, some are specific with men, while others are related to women, and some cause of infertility are general ones.
Causes of Infertility - Men
A man’s fertility is affected by a number of things. There are some factors that have a link with the fertility of man. They include abnormal production of sperm cells. This can happen as a result of many things, one of which is infection. This will affect the movement of sperm cells, and thus affect a man’s fertility.
Other causes of infertility include pain at the time of sexual intercourse, as well as blockage in testicles which can cause problem in the delivery of sperm cells. A man’s health conditions may also affect his fertitlity. Being overweight leaves a negative effect, and so are smoking and drugs harmful, which can have an impact on the health of sperms. Along with that, men who have had chemotherapy done might also have changes with their sperm cell growth.
Causes of Infertility - Women
Just like the infertility is man is caused by a number of factors, a woman being infertile is also a result of some factors that will affect the health of the eggs in woman.
If by any chance, a woman’s fallopian tubes get blocked or damaged, the sperms won’t be able to reach the egg. Lots of exercise can also be bad for a woman, as this can affect the frequency and time of ovulation in women. Similarly tumors present in a woman’s body also have an impact. Just like it happens in men, women also have problems with the health of egg as a result of radiations or by facing menopause earlier. Early menopause can be detected in women by a nuumber of symptoms, and these are the causes of infertility in women.
Other causes of infertility also include taking medications that affect the production of eggs or sperms. Certain diseases also come as a hurdle in the path of getting pregnant. These include kidney problems, cancer, thoroid problem etc. Although being infertile is a difficult thing to be digested and it is a source of gloom for many couples, but still, consultations with the doctor will surely help to figure out solutions to fight the problem.
